Community Service Recap: VIP 18 - Columbus

A MESSAGE FROM VIP 18 - COLUMBUS:

We are Keystone 18, the 18th class of the Vision and Impact Program (VIP) of Next Level Trainings in Columbus, Ohio. We are committed to creating unity, love, and authenticity for ourselves, our families, and the world. Our guiding principles are vulnerability, empowerment, courage, service, gratitude, integrity, fun, passion, spirituality, and freedom.

Guided by our commitments and principles, we chose LSS Faith Mission in Columbus, Ohio for our Community Service Project (CSP).

LSS Faith Mission works to create a better world by serving people in need of shelter, food, clothing, employment readiness, health care, case management, and veterans services. Each year, LSS Faith Mission provides more than 90,000 nights of shelter and serves three meals a day to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. All people are received and treated with unconditional kindness, respect, and dignity.

To support LSS Faith Mission, Keystone 18 committed to raising $162,000, collecting 5,000 tangible goods, and providing 3,000 volunteer hours in just 35 days.

Our team of 50, with 22 satellite members, reached out to corporations, local businesses, friends, and family members to support this organization. Keystone 18 sought support across the country including Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin,  Missouri, Louisiana, and California. The team raised funds and sourced tangible goods until the very last moment of the campaign.

Keystone 18 also held an “Improvements Day” on Saturday, November 10th at LSS Faith Mission. The team came together to clean and paint the entry hall, dining room, and two additional hallways. We held a fundraising tailgate party on Saturday, November 24th during the Ohio-Michigan game. Our goal that day to raise $5,000 was blown out of the water by raising $8,117 in donations. On Thursday, November 29th, Keystone 18 held a Celebration at the Epicenter and presented LSS Faith Mission with the 6,348 tangible goods and a check for $174,047.

Sue Villilo, Executive Director of LSS Faith Mission Choices and Faith Mission said, “It’s one thing to hear the words. Tonight it’s real. I don’t know how to thank you all. ‘Thank you’ are not words enough to express how grateful we are to you.”

Keystone 18 came together in unity, love, and authenticity and created an amazing outcome as a result. In supporting LSS Faith Mission, our team lived our guiding principles: vulnerability, empowerment, courage, service, gratitude, integrity, fun, passion, spirituality, and freedom. Our team is thrilled about the results we produced, about the massive impact we’ve made, and about the lasting change we are working to achieve in the world.

We thank everyone who contributed to our campaign and supported us along the way. Thank you to the leadership of Next Level Trainings. Thank you to our coaches. Thank you to graduates and to our angels. Our countless thanks to the many donors from all walks of life who contributed to the success of our campaign to support Faith Mission. Our Keystone 18 team is grateful for the experiences we’ve had, the challenges we’ve faced, the lessons we’ve learned, and the deep and lasting human connections we’ve made throughout our leadership training experience.
