Local leaders through Next Level Trainings to raise $50K in 21 days for Operation Backpack

POTTSTOWN, PA- Next Level Trainings has announced the launch of a community service project for Operation Backpack. Next Level Trainings 9th class is a Philadelphia-based leadership program with students from across the tri-state area. The vision of Next Level Trainings is to impact and transform their local community in a huge way. This particular mission, focused on the current impact of Operation Backpack, will change the lives of children who would typically be without food over the weekend.

“When we were contacted by Next Level Trainings leadership team I was honored that they thought of us,” said Lisa Haverly, Executive Director of Operation Backpack. “Their passion, excitement, and drive to help us is contagious. I am very excited to see everything come together!”

In Pennsylvania, 1,534,710 people are struggling with hunger - and of them 437,340 are children. Over 26,000 children and youth that are registered in public school are homeless. Operation Backpack provides meals, snacks, and water bottles to students who would otherwise go without over the weekend. Operation Backpack currently serves a total of 6 school districts, 44 schools, and 374 students, providing over 2,600 meals in a weekend.

The direct goal of the 9th leadership class of Next Level Trainings is to raise funds in the excess of $50,000 in 12 days, completed by May 24, 2019, as well as complete various special projects and events to support Operation Backpack in accessing crucial supplies that will ensure their continued impact on the local community.

“It is the most incredible organization, and I have witnessed how the staff work tirelessly to create a world where children do not have to worry if they will eat outside school hours. There is simply nothing like Operation Backpack,” said Christina Sample, a current member of the leadership team.
