Virtual Talent Show Fundraiser Held to Support the Homeless

Virtual community shared their talents for a great cause

Cleveland, OH – Talent from across the U.S. and Canada, came to “bring it” to the next level on Saturday, April 24th as a part of the “Step Right Up-Outfitting Front Steps and Housing Services,” event. The virtual fundraiser benefitted Front Steps Housing and Services, a nonprofit, that helps to rebuild individuals and communities, by breaking the cycle of homelessness in the Cuyahoga County area. The event was part of Next Level Trainings’ Second Online Leadership class fundraising campaign. The goal is to raise $50,000 for Front Steps Housing and Services, in just under three weeks. So far, the team has raised over $43,000 in 14 days!

The fundraising event showcased unique acts such as belly dancing, a Reiki healing session, and salsa dancing lessons. It also featured R & B, a touch of jazz and music from talented singers-songwriters like Betty Ladas, Mariano Latona, Ilya Kruglov, and Ivree (Annalise Vaughn).

"It has been truly inspiring to have a community of artists and companies across North America rally in support of Front Steps Housing and Services,” said Eli Matthews, Event Chair for the Next Level Trainings’ Second Online Leadership class fundraising campaign. “Our event Saturday brought laughter, the mystical, and music together in a way that truly impacted everyone in attendance. We as students of Next Level Trainings want to sincerely thank everyone, artists and patrons alike, that have contributed through donations, tickets purchased and items donated.

Sherri Brandon, Executive Director at Front Steps Housing and Services, emphasized the true impact of the support by saying, “When Next Level first approached me, I said huh…in how many days?” “Each day I began to look and say, this is amazing. How are they doing this? And it showed me as a non-profit organization, we have to move outside of our norm. We have to get outside the box of what the textbooks tell us to do, what the funders tell us to do. We have to move outside of the box to get it done.”

Front Steps Housing and Services opened its doors in 1986 and has helped over 3,500 people obtain safe, affordable, permanent housing for individuals and families. They’ve also aided in reconnecting families and providing behavioral health services.
