Next Level Trainings Leadership Class OVIP3 raised $45,239 in 14 days for disaster relief for Lake Charles, La
Lake Charles, LA — The third online leadership class of Next Level Trainings has raised $45,000.00 in 14 days for disaster relief efforts to benefit a local non-profit, Water’s Edge Gathering. 28 adults from all over the world created a spontaneous fundraising event as part of this transformational leadership program. Together they took on this challenge to offer hope to a devastated area.
The community of Lake Charles, Louisiana, has been nearly destroyed by unprecedented floods, a snowstorm, two hurricanes, and a freeze – all within the last nine months, concurrently with the COVID-19 pandemic.
With over 1,000 homes damaged, families have become homeless because of the devastating effects of Category 4 hurricane winds, burst pipes, and; most recently, flood damage. On top of that, the storms have displaced snakes, alligators, and increased the swarms of disease-carrying mosquitoes in the region.
Water’s Edge is a mission-oriented gathering that serves selflessly in the Southwest Louisiana region. Most notably, they feed thousands of people a week from their food pantry. After each natural disaster, they stepped up to meet whichever need was most prevalent for the citizens of the community, including home renovations. They work diligently to provide shelter and service for the homeless in their community.
The leaders of the third online leadership class of Next Level Trainings are supporting this ravaged community by partnering with this local non-profit. The leaders raised a little over $45,000 in just 14 days, working closely with the nonprofit to bring hope and visibility to rebuild the community.
The campaign consisted of viral online content and person to person fundraising. Local leaders in the Southwest Louisiana area and strangers from all over the world stepped up to offer help during such devastating times.
