Next Level Trainings leadership group raises $90,684 in 21 days for Operation Backpack. Feeding local students who would otherwise go hungry over the weekend.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The 9th leadership class of Next Level Trainings Vision and Impact Program in Philadelphia raised $90,684 in 21 days for Operation Backpack, a non-profit organization located in Pottstown, PA. Our team of 26 students chose to support Operation Backpack and we are excited to have created massive results for them. Operation Backpack supports children who rely on school meals during the week with a backpack filled with enough meals, snacks, and water to get them through the weekend. We committed to raise $50,000 - reaching this declaration in just ten days, host local events, and collected tangible goods donations to support Operation Backpack in accessing crucial support that will ensure their continued impact on the local community.

“This has been the most extraordinary experience of my life, and I am so grateful to have stood for the children. I can say for certain that this has been a transformative experience for all involved that I know will impact the community for years to come” said Tonianne Napolitano, a current member of the leadership team.

Along with supporting Operation Backpack in fundraising, the leadership students of Next Level Trainings:

  • collected 3,400 tangible items, including canned foods and non-perishables

  • donated large 6 shelving units to better organize the facility and store goods, 2 large carts donated to facilitate transportation and assembly, and 5 backpacks

  • made construction improvements within the facility consisting of patching walls with 4x8 drywall

  • contributed 48 volunteer hours

  • gathered a $100 gift card to ACE Hardware, as well as grocery store gift cards to ensure continued growth for Operation Backpack

“This entire process with Next Level Trainings has blown us away,” said Lisa Heverly, Executive Director of Operation Backpack. “It’s unbelievable, and the results they produced have proven their commitment to supporting our team in battling childhood hunger. I am so thankful for this team”.

Operation Backpack is a 501c3 non-profit organization, providing food to students in our community who would go without over the weekend. We work to help homeless and hungry students succeed by addressing the issue of childhood hunger. Operation Backpack serves alongside individuals and organizations to collect food and materials. Volunteers pack these items into backpacks, which are sent out to qualifying students who discreetly pick up the backpacks each Friday and return them on Monday. The process begins again for the next weekend.
