Next Level Trainings leadership group raises $49,504 in 31 days for teen leaders in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The 7th leadership class through the Philadelphia branch of Next Level Trainings put together a spontaneous but intentional community service project (CSP) effort to support Youth Action. As part of its transformational curriculum, the class of 16 leaders committed to raising $40,000 in their 31-day campaign but ultimately raised $49,504 in that same period.

Youth Action creates teen leaders who inspire their urban-area communities to combat social problems such as education, homelessness, hunger, poverty, teen pregnancy and more. By providing quality education and inspiring charitable service, Youth Action mentors are teen role models who impact and serve as the foundation of a safe and secure community that empowers local youth to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

Youth Action is changing the world one child at a time. Their motto alone drives home their mission: Inspire. Lead. Serve. The organization’s passion for creating change in Philadelphia by mentoring and leading youth inspired the leadership team to do everything in their power to support Youth Action. The impact of Youth Action is exponential because each young leader that is trained by the organization pays it forward in their own community, enriching and improving the lives of those around them. “The ripple that they are creating is endless,” said Michelle Kennard, one of the Next Level Trainings’ CSP captains.

Along with supporting Youth Action in raising funds, VIP 7 - Philadelphia created the following for the organization:

  • Painted and beautified a counseling center at Olney Charter High School in North Philadelphia during the week of November 26th. They sourced doors, furniture, art work, and an area rug for the space. All supplies were donated.

  • Held a dinner and silent auction fundraiser on November 27th at Field House Sports Bar.

  • Sourced tangible goods including 2 Asus Vivobooks and a sound system.

“The outstanding support from Next Level Trainings has transformed Youth Action and will allow us to further impact, engage, and support students in Philadelphia to become socially responsible leaders. We are so grateful for the heartfelt support from Next Level Trainings, it truly has made a difference in the lives of our students,” said Executive Director of Youth Action, Anthony Phillips.
