Local leadership group raises $90K in one month for the Sunshine Foundation

Philadelphia, PA -  On Wednesday night, a local leadership team, Next Level Trainings, presented a check to the Sunshine Foundation for over $90,000. Over $50,000 of this amount was raised in the final 10 days of the campaign.

Through urgent fundraising, tenacity, and committed action, the team sourced massive contributions towards to support dream requests of the Sunshine Foundation’s dream list children, with the most popular being a family trip to the Central Florida theme parks. In just one month, the leadership team succeeded in potentially funding 17 dreams for children.

The team hosted several fundraising events including a local benefit concert, poker night, wine and paint event, bake sale, a Valentine’s Day party, and various eat-to-donate sponsorships at local restaurants. The team even lit up the One World Trade Center’s spire in the organization’s signature yellow and gifted a dream during the lighting ceremony to 16-year-old, Yamilette Machuca who has low-functioning autism and intellectual delays.

“Never in our wildest dreams did we think the One World Trade Center would be lit up to support Yamilette and other children like her,” said Martha Machuca, mother of Yamilette Machuca. “Not to mention, we now get her dream to come true of going to Disney World together as a family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!”

Leadership team student co-captains, Nafie Nafie and Tammy Eason presented the $90,000 check to the Sunshine Foundation while gifting dreams to two of their Dream List children in attendance, Jada Smith and Tiera Hart. Both girls were presented with their dream trip of visiting various Florida theme parks.

“I am honored to have worked alongside 35 inspiring leaders in support of the Sunshine Foundation and truly blessed to work with these amazing children,” said Tammy Eason. “I am so proud of our leadership team and that we will make dreams come true for so many of these incredible kids.”
